Meet Luis Lobo
Rehabilitation Nurse specializing in male pelvic health, sports recovery, and men's sexual wellness.

01 · About Me
My path into healthcare was not entirely linear. From an early age, I was involved in volunteering and studied Arts during secondary school before beginning a degree in Civil Engineering. A first-aid course changed my direction, making me realize that I wanted to work directly with people in vulnerable moments and within the relationship between health and illness. I subsequently entered Nursing, graduating in 2009.
My interest in rehabilitation and sexual health began early in my professional education. During my specialization in Rehabilitation Nursing (2015), a particular experience became a defining moment for me: caring for a 19-year-old man following ACL reconstruction and discussing the impact of recovery on sexual activity. It highlighted how returning to life after injury involves much more than physical recovery, and led me to make sexual health a consistent part of my rehabilitation assessment.
I completed a Postgraduate Degree in Sports Rehabilitation in 2017, developing my expertise in exercise, physical performance, injury recovery, and sports rehabilitation. My hospital career has included Medicine, Orthopaedics and Traumatology, and cardiac care. I currently work in Cardiac Rehabilitation and the Emergency Department, with a particular focus on Phase I cardiac rehabilitation, supporting patients following cardiac surgery in intensive care and inpatient settings.
In 2021, I completed a Postgraduate Degree in Palliative Care.
Since 2014, I have worked in rehabilitation, with a particular focus on male pelvic rehabilitation. My practice includes men of all ages, from young athletes and healthy, physically active men to those living with urological conditions or recovering from urological procedures. My clinical interests include pelvic floor dysfunction, urinary and bowel function, erectile and ejaculatory difficulties, genital sensitivity, and male sexual health.
My approach combines Rehabilitation Nursing, Sports Rehabilitation, pelvic health, exercise, and an ongoing clinical and scientific interest in andrology, male sexual function, and urological rehabilitation.
For me, rehabilitation is about more than treating a condition. It is about helping people understand their bodies, regain function, confidence, and intimacy, and return to the life they want to live.
